Happy first day of fall eve!
The weather has cooled down a bit but there's really no signs of Fall here just yet. I am sad that summer is ending but I am excited to be able to wear more jeans (even though I love my dresses) and boots. When I saw this Free People top, I knew I had to get it. The crop length makes it so that it doesn't look too frumpy on. It's been so long since I've worn bell sleeves and I am loving all the 70's inspired trends coming back. Next, maybe I'll have the courage to finally try on the Flare denim trend again!

White Out

Coat: Victoria Secret (old) (similar) / Dress: French Connection (love this) / Sandals: Old (love these) / Purse: Rebecca Minkoff / Necklace: Baublebar

Only 8 more days until it's Christmas!

Found this beautiful Christmas tree at the City Hall to use as a background to complement the bland colors that is in my outfit today. I'm so excited for Christmas and pretty proud of myself for getting a lot of Christmas shopping done already this year.

Have a great Wednesday!

Star Light, Star Bright

Sweater: Forever 21 (similar/ Leggings: Uniqlo / Boots: Dolce Vita / Scarf: Forever 21 (similar, similar) / Purse: Coach / Watch: Michael Kors / Bracelet: Baublebar

We walked around Downtown Houston on Sunday and saw these nice (unlit) stars. Even though it was not lit up until nighttime, it still made for somewhat a nice, festive background for pictures.
Also, I am loving this lace-trim sweater from Forever21. A few people commented on my good layering skills until I told them that it's just one whole sweater. No layering skills involved here! I kind of regretted not getting it in the other colors before it sold out but I've found an almost exact match (a little pricier but maybe even cuter) from Urban Outfitters that I may be making a purchase very soon.
Hope you guys have a great Monday!

Party Skirt

Top: Asos (old) (similar) / Skirt: c/o Eshakti / Shoes: Zara (similar) / Purse: Coach Penny / Necklace: Baublebar / Cuff: Baublebar (similar)

I love this time of year. Everywhere you go, there are twinkling lights and people just seem nicer during the holiday festivities.
As you know, I have developed a small obsession with midi skirts. With the coming of more colder months and all the upcoming holiday events, a longer length skirt or dress would make great options. When Eshakti contacted me about a review on their products, I checked out their website and was immediately interested.
Eshakti is a custom clothing online site, gearing towards real fashion for real people. It allows each person to customize the size and the fit of each piece to their liking so that it will fit perfectly to their body shape and size, and at a very reasonably price point! A lot of the clothes that I purchase are usually sent to the alterations to get that perfect fit (since I'm not very tall). I believe that fashion is not about the cost of the garment but about how well it fits your body. I was immediately drawn to this Jacquard embroidered fabric but had a hard time deciding between the midi skirt or the midi dress style. obviously, I ended up with the skirt since I figured that I can style it many different ways to get  a lot of uses out of this gorgeous skirt. I was even happier when I received the package for many different reasons.
                        - The item came exceptionally fast, considering that it is a custom made item.
                        - The skirt fits me like a glove and the length was perfect (there are side pockets as
well!). A midi length garment can make you look short if it cuts you at the
                           wrong length.
                        - The thick jacquard fabric looks and feel even more luxurious in person.

If you want to try your hands at clothing made just for you, Eshakti is offering a 10% discount code valid until January 10, 2015. Use code "thepartydress" at checkout.

Thank you so much for stopping by and have a happy Wednesday!

I hope everyone had an amazing Thanksgiving break.
I was good this year and did not do much Black Friday shopping. We avoided the crowd and just stayed in Thursday night. I did cave in late that night and did some online browsing. Besides getting some Christmas gift shopping out of the way, I ended up purchasing these two striped dresses(here here) for 30% off from Asos for myself. I am only going to keep one but couldn't decide so I ordered them both to try on. I love that Asos offers such a simple return policy. I was also able to snatch this dress and it was the last one in my size from Piperlime.

Did you score any amazing Black Friday or Cyber Monday deals?

Hello! It feels like a decade since my last post.
Finally out after a week of hibernation from the chilling cold front and rain (at least for Houston standards) that Houston got hit with. Besides from my exercising routines suffering a bit, I was able to catch up on some much needed sleep and probably a little too much TV time (even more so than usual).

Trying to play catch up on some outfit posts that I have not gotten around to posting. This simple outfit is something that I wear on a regular basis during the fall season. It's enough layers to keep me warm in 50 degree weather and is still comfortable enough to run around town for errands.

This tee from Forever 21 doesn't seem like much in pictures but in real life, it is made of the softest fabric. Something that I would never think of finding at Forever 21. It was the only color available at the store and I could not find it anywhere online. It was a little pricier than the usual tees there but the quality is something that you would expect from Madewell or J Crew.

It's almost Friday, so I wish you all an amazing weekend!

Cold Shoulder

Showing a little skin today with this off the shoulder crop top I purchased on sale from Nasty Gal. I love that it shows some skin without border lining on being too revealing or inappropriate. Our weather has been going up and down, so some days, it's still warm enough to dress like it is summertime.
Thanks for stopping by!

I can't believe it is already the end of October. Where has the year gone?!!! Daylight Saving is this weekend so going forward, it'll be so much harder to take pictures during the week since it will be dark by the time I leave work. I will have to be more efficient during the weekends. On a happier note, Halloween is in a few days!
Who/what will you be dressed up as?

A Neutral State of Mind

Sweater: Forever 21 / Skirt: Forever 21 / Boots: Dolce Vita (so comfy and on sale!) / Purse: Rebecca Minkoff / Necklaces: c/o 9thandelm & Baublebar / Bracelets: Baublebar, Baublebar, & Stella & Dot

Friday is Here!
Decided to keep my outfit very simple and neutral today. As much as I love Spring and Summer, I am happy to be able to put my boots to good use. I've been on the hunt for a few skirts that will pair well with boots and found some great ones at Forever 21. This pleated knit skirt is exceptionally thick and looks way more expensive than it's $20 price point!

Hope you guys have an amazing weekend!

Romping Around

We finally had a hint of fall weather this weekend and it was great! Don't know how long it will last but I'll enjoy it while it's here.
When I saw this romper on Lulu's website, I immediately fell in love. Not only does it have the low back (which I gravitate towards), but I love all the front lace details as well. The open back makes it perfect for a warm night out and if the weather gets a little chilly like it did for us, then throw on a light jacket and call it a night.
